Dodging the Bullet

So I think it's safe to say that the rest of our household has dodged the bullet on the stomach bug, HALLELUJAH!!! Or it could just be that William and I got some bad food........either way we are very thankful that everyone else is well!!! Poor William always gets hit the worst. He had to miss a birthday party Friday thanks to the pukes but decided to keep the present he was to give away and that made him feel a little better, ha!

Our weekend was pretty uneventful. We soccered all day Saturday and took it easy on Sunday. And now that Monday has rolled back around we're back in the swing of things. Today we ventured out to Sams and picked up a few things. One of which was this:

That my friends is the new Nicholas Sparks book! If you don't read his novels then start now! I have read everything he's ever written...some of them twice! He releases a new book each fall and it is one of my favorite things about fall, besides Alabama football! His books are ones you can't put down once you open them. Be sure to have some Kleenex handy...I've cried through almost every book.

Oh, we also found a really great consignment shop in Dallas today and they have a lot of new things too and I got the girls' Christmas dresses today for $40! They're so cute....white with candy canes smoked around the top. It's going to be perfect to pair with either solid or plaid polos for the boys for a Christmas card! I also got cute pink dresses with ballerinas smocked on them....too cute! I have no pictures b/c my stick is out of memory and until I take my lazy self to Wal-Mart and get some cds you're just stuck with my rambling! I'll try to solve that problem soon. Happy Monday!

You Can Run, But You Can't Hide

It has finally happened to us........

This morning I was awoken by a child at the side of my bed before my alarm even went off. We all know what's going through my mind.......this is not going to be pretty! Charlie had come to tell me William had had an accident (he was simply the messenger) so up I jumped and headed upstairs.

Now just to give you a head's up. I was up half the night spending some quality time in the bathroom. In fact I was even napping on a pile of dirty clothes on our bathroom floor in between pit stops. My nose also suddenly stopped up so bad I thought I was going to suffocate so I was thinking, "maybe I ate something I'm allergic to." Anyway, time passed and somewhere in the wee hours of the morning I made it to bed and felt like I might make it to see the sun another day. Surprisingly this morning when Charlie made it to my bedside I felt completely normal as if I'd had 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. (I'm sure it will hit me in a few more hours)

Anyway, upstairs I find a holy mess and let's just say me and the bleach spent some quality time together early this morning, my washing machine will be going full force until I sleep tonight, and Clayton had to do some major pitching in this morning for our morning routine. So far no one else has been affected or they don't seem to be. The girls are down for a nap, Henry is watching Cars, Charlie is at school, and William is starting to get a little color back in his face.

In case you haven't caught on yet we have been struck by the stomach bug. I guess it was more like a virus I caught last night than an allergy, ha! I didn't have it near as bad as William. He's got double trouble but seems to be better right now. I keep waiting to hear the phone ring and school be on the other end for me to pick Charlie up....maybe not (my fingers are crossed at least!) Come to think of it, William and I were really the only ones to eat a whole lot at supper last night. (it was just me and the kids b/c Clayton wasn't back in town from his meeting yet) Maybe we got something bad in the food. I guess only time will tell.

FYI: We ate tacos for supper last night. Yeah, I know you probably really didn't want that information but you got it anyway.

Kroger Taco Kit, you know how fond I am of you. No hard feelings, but it's going to be a long while before you grace the shelves of my pantry again. Until then.........

High Steppin' & Batman

This is a blurry picture and please ignore the messy office but if you look closely down there on Mary Collins' feet you will see.........little white t-strap Keds.....can I get an Amen?! Thank you very much! So we now have shoes that fit. They don't fit as good as normal kids shoes do but they'll have to do b/c they don't start making shoes in narrows until size 4. They can keep them on at least! But aside from all that, is she not the cutest thing?
My inlaws are in town this week and my MIL and I have been out doing this and that so I have actually put on decent clothes with shoes. Well, my girls have discovered high heels and being like their mom it was love at first sight. I LOVED shoes as a child and still do. In fact I often buy shoes and then buy clothes to go with my shoes. My mind works a little backwards at times, ha! It's very hard for the girls to keep my heels on and walk so Meme and I headed to Wal-Mart last night and lucked up upon these beauties for only $4 I might add, a bargain indeed!
Here is Margaret Ann:

And Miss Mary Collins modeling the falls newest fashion trends:

They were kinda slick at first but it didn't take them a second to figure those babies out and off they went:
I would have more pics of them but as you can see from above they are just much too busy to stop and smile for the camera! On another note, the girls are trying out some Halloween dress-up options. Here is Margaret Ann modeling her new Batman look. I keep telling them we need to go with a more femine look.....maybe a ladybug or a ballerina. Luckily we still have a month to make that decision!

Our First Nightgowns

The Cozy Cottage is a children's boutique in Dallas and today was the last day of their anniversary sale so my MIL and I braved the storm and headed down there. We picked up some cute outfits for fall/winter and these precious nightgowns! Now I am a nightgown kinda girl and I've been dying for them to fit into the 12M size of Carters but alas they are just now starting to fit into a 9M size. Well they just don't make nightgowns in anything smaller than 12M b/c most babies are still in the footed sleepers at that milestone. At the moment my girls are still wearing their newborn gowns for pajamas and they fit them just fine but we're starting to need a little more length. Well I found these gowns in 6-9 months and I almost jumped with joy! And they look soooooo adorable on them and they just love them! They are a soft cotton with eyelet lace around the sleeves. My mom made them a blanket that looks just like them! Here is Margaret Ann:

And Miss Mary Collins: (I know her eyes are half shut but she was posing and I couldn't resist posting this pose)

And here go those nightgowns climbing up the stairs:
Are they not the cutest things? I think so at least!

William's First Day

William started school this week. He is doing a TK program this year at Stonebridge United Methodist Church. He exclaimed after the first day, "It's the best school ever!" He is loving school! And his toe is doing much better as he is able to wear tennis shoes. He also went to soccer this week and was able to kick the ball and his toe didn't hurt him, yeah! Here he is on his first day of school:
And this was our Labor Day in which we did a lot of hanging out at home. Here are the kids sitting in front of some grass across the street from our house:

Belle the Great

Yesterday Clayton had an office day so he worked from home. The girls had a ball typing on Daddy's computer at the end of the day: And here's what I did that was productive:
This is the 8th member of our family, Belle. She's my baby girl and y'all she smelled so bad I was getting embarrassed to call her my own. And if you know me you know she must have been way beyond needing a bath. When we first got Belle we only had 2 children. I bathed her faithfully once a week and sometimes more than once a week if she got in the pond or something. Then we had Henry. It got harder for me to bathe her once a week and sometimes she would almost go two weeks without a bath. But for the most part I kept up with it pretty good. I mean she never got real smelly. Then we had the twins. And let's just say the last time she got bathed before yesterday was when she got groomed and I can't even count how many weeks ago that's been b/c it's getting time for another groom........ That's kinda scary b/c I go a long time between haircuts for her. Oh well, she smells nice and clean now and she's real soft too b/c I used conditioner on her this time too! This was taken a few weeks back but here's me and my girl:
On another note my big sis Melanie came to Dallas for work this week and came and spent
the night with us Sunday night. We shopped the outlets Sunday afternoon and had a blast. It was such a good visit. Thanks for coming Melanie! By the way, only four days until college football! Is anyone else excited? Roll Tide Roll! And Hotty Toddy! By the way, I cannot believe Ole Miss is ranked in the top 10, over Alabama! That is some crazy stuff right there! I guess that's what happens when you lose your entire offensive line, huh?
