Pumpkin Patch 2010

Prepare yourself for a long post of pictures........

Last Friday after school my friend Heather and I loaded up our kids and headed to the pumpkin patch for some fun. (Nothing like waiting til the last minute!) But the best part about this pumpkin patch was that it was all free. All you had to pay for was your pumpkin, if you chose to get one. Here we are before we went in.....my kids are so thrilled to be taking pictures.

Clearly my kids are challenged......I mean how hard is it to look at the camera when a crazy person is standing behind the camera counting to three? Maybe I should state that I am the challenged one. I'm the one who has to try and capture a Christmas card photo, yikes!


They had this cute bucket to take pics in for babies, but my 2yr olds fit right in it!

They had a mini hay maze which was just right for the little ones b/c we could let them run free and could still see them. They ran around that thing forever. And even though it was a little kiddie for the bigger kids, they didn't seem to mind one bit.

Then they had this train that was pulled around by a tractor. Mr. tractor driver put in his time b/c my kids rode like 5 times! I didn't think I was going to be able to get Margaret Ann off the thing!

Mary Collins was a fraidy cat and wouldn't ride.

I finally forced MC to ride on the train with Charlie. I gave her the whole speech about fraidy cats missing out on lots of fun, etc. She liked it after it started moving:

We attempted to snap some of all of us. These are basically all the same but I couldn't tell on the little camera screen and since I spent the time to download all of them you'll just have to look at them. My mom won't mind:)

After that we went and spent all our quarters on fish food to feed the catfish. I tried to tell the kids they could feed fish for free at home but it's all part of the experience; right?

Then we hit another photo opt:

And finally loaded up on the tractor to head out to the pumpkin patch to pick some pumpkins. There were hardly any left, which made some quick decision making, which was good for all involved b/c we were tired! Here we are waiting for the tractor to move:

Clayton showed up as we were picking out our pumpkins so he missed out on all the photo opts....he's devastated I know (he hated pictures). After that we loaded up and headed out to eat with the Seibs. Party of 12, please. How many kids menus will you need? 7 please....geesh!

School Fall Parties

Last week was a whirlwind of school parties. Henry was up first. They wore their costumes and had a costume parade where they paraded around and got candy at different stations. The girls and I helped pass out candy. Then it was off to the classroom for snacks and goodies. Here is Henry's class parading:

Then William and Charlie had parties simultaneously. So the kids and I jumped back and forth between the two. We hit William's class first. Here they are eating some goodies:

After half of William's party we headed to Charlie's. Here is GI Joe:

Now the girls really loved Charlie's party (especially MC) b/c they got to partake of the food.

Charlie loves his sisters...they are some lucky little squirrels.

This warms my heart.

50th Day of School

Today was Charlie and William's 50th day of school and they were doing a 50's day complete with a sock hop at P.E. which I thought was a great idea! I had one willing participant and one unwilling participant. Can you guess which is which?

I'm so behind with posts but I just had to post this b/c it was one pic. Some pumpkin patch and Halloween pics are coming soon:)

Sesame Street Live!

Last Wednesday my friend Heather and I took our younger kids to see Sesame Street Live while the older ones were in school. Heather had been before and invited us to go. I have never taken the kids to something like this before. I've known tons of people that have taken their kids to whatever Live and they all talk about how much fun they had. I guess I was just thinking it was like taking the kids to see Thomas the train in person or riding the "Polar Express" at Christmas time.....you know, you pay tons of money to hop on a train, ride a few minutes down the track, stop, put the train in reverse and ride back to where you came from.....in my opinion a total waste of money....although the kids like it, but I've just always expected more for what you pay for with those type things. So needless to say I was a tad hesitant about the whole Sesame Street Live production. Y'all, I couldn't have been any more wrong! It was wonderful! Now, I grew up doing theatre and I LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Broadway shows so I have pretty high expectations. And I must say that the Big Bird, Cookie, Elmo and crew totally blew my expectations away! It was a great show. I was amazed at how well those dancers could move in those suits! They were awesome! We will definitely be hitting some more of those shows next time they come around! The kids had a blast! They were just taking it all in the first few songs but after a few they jumped right up and were dancing along. Of course Elmo was our favorite part. And since I don't do stuff like that with the kids very often we went all out and bought concessions to boot! Kind of like the first time you go to NYC and you want to buy the souvenir program for every show you see, ha! Well, we came away with some Elmo loot and a $10 balloon! I drew my line at the balloon when the guy told me they were $10! I said, for $10 we'll take turns sharing the balloon, and they did. Here's it in pics:

They did a big surf number that the whole crowd LOVED! The best part was before this but I was too busy dancing with the kids to snap then.

So if your kids like Sesame Street and it's coming close to you you should totally spend the money and go see it. And my philosophy is if you're going to see a show, see a show....get the good seats!

Happy Fall Y'all

I still had the girls' outfits laid out from last night and they saw them this morning after breakfast and MC brought one to me and said she wanted to wear her outfit....be still my heart! Then she told me I made it for her. Well, yes, yes, I did. They were so excited to wear their pumpkin suits today. They got several compliments when we dropped Henry off at preschool this morning. Here they are before preschool:

And when we got back I attempted to snap a few pics on our front porch with our fall decor. The girls weren't being too cooperative.

It's still hot as blue blazes round these parts but a few trees are starting to change colors and acorns are falling from the oaks. I love fall decorations, probably as much or more so than Christmas ones! So happy fall y'all!
